Talk Therapy for adolescents and young adults
Although adolescence and the post-school years are exciting developmental stages, these can be difficult to navigate at the best of times. Additional life circumstances, trauma, loss and anxieties can make this time even more challenging to navigate and as parents it can be difficult to know how to help.

Counselling allows a young client to discover a safe space where they can express and explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours and make sense of their world without fear of judgement. The authentic and trusting therapeutic relationship fostered, allows for insight, healing and growth. Through collaboration and shared goals with a mental health practitioner, a client is able to access a larger pool of resources and coping skills. It is important that parents allow their children to take ownership of their mental health by allowing and encouraging them to access supportive services should they ever need them. Counselling has been proven to enhance mental well-being, self-esteem and social resilience in youth.
