Play Therapy for Children
Play Therapy is one of the greatest gifts that parents can offer their child if they are experiencing social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. Like adults, children require a safe environment to process difficult emotions and experiences from time to time. While adults tend to engage in more talk-based therapies, children communicate best at their own level and pace through play. This medium is less threatening and allows a child to explore and resolve difficulties indirectly and at a safe distance. This is an empowering process that aids self-regulation, emotional intelligence (EQ) and development. The support of parents and feedback sessions form an important part of Play Therapy.
