WELCOME, MEET CHANTELE
As a Registered Counsellor with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), Chantele provides accessible psychological services to her clients and the school community. Her practice and energy is dedicated to and focused on supporting our younger generation approx. 3-24 years of age.
With a special interest in optimal child development and early prevention, Chantele supports children with various social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. She also has a particular interest in psychometrics and uses assessments to support learning and growth. Her professional services include Play Therapy, Counselling and Assessments. These are offered from her practice rooms in Claremont - a safe and welcoming environment.
In practice, Chantele takes a holistic whole-person approach to health. She also draws from various evidence-based approaches according to the needs of each client, incl. Gestalt Play Therapy, Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centred Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Practices. Each approach is founded in authenticity, trust, empathy and unconditional positive regard for each client.
Chantele has a professional background in psychology and education that has laid the foundation for her work with young people. Her formal academic training was completed at Cornerstone Institute where she obtained her BPsych Hons (Couns.) with distinction. Her accompanying internship was ccompleted at Gene Louw Primary School, Cape Town and her community service at various sites incl. Noah’s Ark Pre-Primary, James House, St. Michaels Child and Youth Care Centre and the Her Foundation. In addition, she has achieved her Hons with Specialisation in Psycho-Educational Support (Unisa), with distinction. She has also graduated from Stellenbosch University, with a degree in psychology and later qualified as a FET and Senior Phase educator.

Chantele is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa's (HPCSA) Board of Psychology and with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). This ensures that she has met the stringent training requirements to register in her field, complies with annual Continuous Professional Development and is bound by strong ethical guidelines when practising. In addition, this allows clients who are covered by their medical aid to claim back services.
Chantele is also registered as an educator with the South African Council for Educators (SACE); the professional regulatory body for teachers.
