WELCOME,
MEET CHANTELE

As a licensed Registered Counsellor with the Health Professions Council of South Africa's (HPCSA) Board of Psychology and The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), Chantele has enjoyed a decade of experience in clinical and educational settings and remains well sought after within the school and university community.

Her strong interest in optimal child development, resilience and early prevention led her to a specialisation in children and young people. Those with various social, emotional and behavioural difficulties are supported through her offerings of Play Therapy, Counselling and (education and career related) Psychometric Assessments. All sessions take place at her practice in Claremont, Cape Town - an emotionally safe environment where stories, growth and healing unfold.

In practice, Chantele takes a systemic whole-person approach to health. She draws from various evidence-based psychotherapies according to the needs of each client, incl. Gestalt Play Therapy, Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Practices. Each approach is founded in authenticity, trust, empathy and unconditional positive regard for clients.

" My hope, is for our younger generation to live feeling validated, integrated and whole. It is a privilege to help realise a persons inherent potential and to walk this path with their families. "

Her extensive training from leading institutions mapped an impactful career trajectory. Her professional training took place at Cornerstone Institute, Cape Town where she obtained her BPsych Hons (Couns.) with distinction. Her accompanying 720-hour internship was completed at Gene Louw Primary School, Cape Town. Additional community service was offered at Noah’s Ark Pre-Primary, James House, St. Michaels Child and Youth Care Centre and the Her Foundation.

In addition, she has achieved her BEdHons with Specialisation in Psycho-Educational Support with distinction. Chantele initially graduated with a Degree in Psychology from Stellenbosch University. Whilst there, she continued with postgraduate teaching and qualified as a FET and Senior Phase educator. This included a teaching internship at a local high school.
